Land Rover decided to leave the Centre Diff Lock disconnected in the series 2 Discovery and relies only on the traction control system for all 4wd conditions, taking some of the control away from the driver. Under certain 4wd conditions having only traction control can be a severe disadvantage and even dangerous, so at AMV we have developed the Electronic Centre Diff Lock Actuator (CDLA).
When the CDLA is installed in your Vehicle, by simply pressing the actuator button on the dash you can choose to either drive with or without the centre diff engaged and with the centre diff lock engaged you can also choose to engage or disengage the traction control, thus giving the driver maximum control under all conditions.

The AMV Electronic Center Diff Lock Actuator (CDLA) is an electronic worm drive connected directly to the transfer box and is actuated from a switch which is installed in place of the ash tray or coin tray, the switch panel being a genuine Land Rover unit  fitting perfectly into the dash.

The electric motor is fully water proof and once activated has no power connected, so cannot burn out or overload, the motor also has an auto cut out so that even if the actuator switch stays depressed the unit will automatically shut off to eliminate any possible damage to the electric motor.

Installation of the unit is very simple and no drilling or machining is required and no holes cut into your dash or console. It can be installed in less then 2 hours by AMV or comes with easy to follow instructions for home installations

To engage the center diff lock simply press the diff lock button and the instrument panel will automatically indicate that four wheel drive has been engaged , this can be done at any time in high or low range with the vehicle stationary or in motion
(WARNING DIFF LOCK SHOULD NEVER BE ENGAGED ON SEALED ROADS)
and to disengage simply press the diff lock switch again .

The AMV CDLA is compatible with all Land Rover vehicles fitted with the LT230 transfer box so will fit all Discoveries and classic Range Rovers to 1988.
